The Simpkins Community Health & Education Center combines a primary care clinic with a center for community education to support residents living in North Shreveport. Located next to Southern University Shreveport, it also serves the needs of students attending the university.

Health Center

The health center features a qualified family practice physician and staff who provide primary care. The center offers a wide range of basic services for the family. Among them:

  • Diagnosing and treating illnesses
  • Care for chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and asthma
  • Routine check-ups
  • Screenings and health assessments
  • Coordinating care with specialists
  • Counseling about a healthy lifestyle
  • Laboratory tests and x-ray

Education Center

The Education Center serves as a community meeting space for programs that involve health, wellness, support, and empowerment topics. Many of these programs are provided by Willis-Knighton staff to respond to the needs and interests of those living in the neighborhood.
